InnoDrone is pleased to invite you to the InnoDrone Conference which takes place at this year’s electronics fair E-18 and the robot fair R-18 in Odense. The conference gathers drone developers and companies, researchers and industry players from all over the country.

About the Key Notes

Keynote 1: Nabil Belbachir, Head of DepartmentNorwegian Research Centre
UAS (Unmanned Aerial Spacecrafts) deep vision is an on-board vision system that does not only take aerial images, but also understands them. It is defined as a aerial vision system which, in addition to image capture circuitry, is capable of extracting application-specific information from the captured images, along with generating event descriptions or making decisions that are used in an intelligent and automated system.
The concept of UAS deep vision has the purpose to enable remote operation of UAS as well as autonomous navigation. Tremendous progress has been made in the vision technologies and techniques both at academic level as well as at industrial level. Cameras are getting increasingly intelligent and more and more attractive for a wide range of UAS applications: in surveillance and monitoring, in industrial applications, in transportation and multimedia and many other fields.
In this talk, I will shortly present background information on UAS deep vision. I will also show examples of my research in tackling high-speed industrial vision, 2D, 3D, 4D vision and 3D 360° panoramic vision. I will also show application scenarios exploiting UAS deep vision.

Keynote 2: Anders la Cour-Harbo, Manager Drone Research Lab, Aalborg University
The offshore industry has taken an increasing interest in using drones for a variety of applications, ranging from inspection to delivery of larger cargos for supplies and maintenance. In this presentation we will take a look at the challenges as well as the potentials for conducting offshore operations in a safe and reliable manner using the newest drone technology. The joint research project “Package transport for offshore wind turbines” will also be presented, where the aim is proof of concept delivery of maintenance equipment to large offshore wind turbines.

Keynote 3: Per Magnus Veierland, CEOSevendof
Speak to anyone about drones, and they will likely give you an example of a new use-case they've thought about. Each industrial drone application typically requires advanced analysis and integration with other systems that are specific to an application domain. Through a drone platform, domain focused companies can focus on application development while building on a known drone abstraction - and through a shared drone network, users will benefit from improved drone availability and reduced costs per mission. Sevendof believes that an automated drone platform may complement individual drone usage well, and will talk about how they are making it happen.

Keynote 4: Erdal Kayacan, Associate ProfessorAarhus University
Controller design is more troublesome in complex mechatronics and robotic systems due to, inter–alia, having more than one subsystem, diversity of mission platforms, convoluted nonlinear dynamics, predominantly strict mission and resource constraints as well as demands for guaranteed operability within a wide range of operating conditions that can undergo structural or unexpected changes. Request for increased, almost perfect, accuracy and efficiency of robotic systems,e.g. intelligent vehicles, pushes the operation to the boundaries of the performance envelope and, thus, induces a need for reliable operation at the very limits of attainable performance. In model-based control, control accuracy highly depends on the representativeness of the model describing the system behaviour. On the other hand, in real life, information one can learn from a system is always uncertain and limited in scope due to the noise from both inside and outside of that system as well as the limitations of our cognitive abilities. Even if an accurate model of the system is available, control system encounters various environmental conditions (such as humidity, temperature, etc.). These time varying working conditions might decrease the control accuracy or even lead overall control system to instability when a conventional controller, e.g. a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller, is used. Since conventional controllers do not have the ability of adapting themselves to changing conditions, they are not suitable to be used in such changing working conditions. The use of advanced learning algorithms, which can learn the operational dynamics online and adjust the operational parameters accordingly, might be a candidate solution to all the aforementioned problems. This talk will focus on model-free and model-based control and learning methods  to handle various real-time problems. Furthermore, a few real-time implementations, e.g. guidance and control of autonomous ground vehicles and vision-based control of unmanned aerial vehicles, will also be demonstrated.

Keynote 5: Michael Thorsen, OwnerIntegra Aerial Services
Operating UAV’s in difficult environments such as The Arctic puts special demands on aviation equipment – including UAV’s. Based on our gained insights into the requirements put on UAV Technology in Greenland at Villum Research Station – Station Nord, Integra Aerial Services will go through the development of a complete UAV research solution for DTU and Aarhus University. A solution which includes special UAV’s and equipment, which collect data for monitoring the climate change’s effect on the Inland Ice. 
Furthermore, the presentation will touch upon current and future projects in Integra Aerial Services such as the HUV2 hydrogen fuel project, the Podium UTM project and others, which, we are certain, will move the industry forward.
